Two roads diverged in the woods..Zbac took the unexplored path..And that made the difference..

The year was 1984, two newly graduated friends set out to explore new business opportunities in life…

The two had previously been successful in inventing PETRO GAS, which got them the first prize in an intercollegiate exhibition. They were suggested by an IIT panel that it could be patented and marketed if commercialized. This was their first joint venture. However different interests took them into different fields: one went on to join the Indian Army the other pursued his post graduation in Chemistry and then in Management.

Years passed before their roads crossed again and their once long gone dream to start a business of their own soon took effect. They both started out by installing water purifiers and air conditioners themselves initially, before getting a team in place, and the clients were surprised to see English speaking carpenters and plumbers.

They soon managed to make a place for themselves in the market with huge industrial contracts. Although the two were individually lovers of nature, trekking and adventure sports; it wasn't till 1998 that they explored the virgin territory of adventure sports and outbound training. A basic course in personality development through adventure sports for children sowed the seeds for Z Bac adventures pvt. ltd.

It was a venture full of uncertainty and a lot of risk, as no one in India had yet tried their hand at such a task. Convincing schools and corporates to come out of their conference rooms and fancy dinners into nature and training through adventure was a Herculean task. But those who did come,came again and customers followed.

By 1999, Kolad was zeroed down as the first permanent adventure camp site and thus developed India’s first adventure resort, eventually attaining ISO certification. X-Thrill at Lavasa by Z-Bac followed shortly and thus Z-Bac redefined the concept of corporate training and adventure holidays in india.
